KROKIG

KROKIG is a children’s-room accessories line introduced to the IKEA catalogue in 2014: a collection of simple, colourful hooks, shelves, and coat stands in red, green, blue, and black. The forms are minimal. Single rounded-profile hooks, shelves on steel brackets, free-standing coat stands. Colour does the work: a child learns to associate a place with a shade, a parent recovers order in the entryway or above a bed. KROKIG stayed in the catalogue until 2017 and was then retired. Today it lands in adult flats, where the saturated accents read as deliberate counterpoints to neutral surfaces.
