Inma Bermudez
Inma Bermudez is a Spanish designer working with IKEA from the early 2010s onward. The catalogues credit her on close to a hundred projects, from bathroom pieces (BRÅVIKEN, BADRUMSTILLBEHÖR) through the children’s world (BUSUNGE, BOLLTOKIG, BOLLKÄR) to a long line of hooks, racks, and containers, including the KROKIG range (2014–2017) held in this archive.
KROKIG, a modular system of hooks and shelves for the children’s room, scaled to the height and reach of young users, is among her most recognisable IKEA pieces. Bermudez runs her own Estudio Inma Bermudez in Valencia; her work is marked by formal discipline and attention to functional detail, both well suited to IKEA’s mass-production scale.
